Extreme Kindness

Erik's Journal

Date: Tuesday, November 26th 2002.

Geography: St John's Newfoundland

Point form day: Up at 7:00 -Radio interviews -down to the docks to shoot for the local paper and find a random kindness -helped load boxes into The Funk Island Banker, a huge fishing vessel -had lunch at a Irish pub - toured the east coast and Signal hill in a big helicopter (one of the ones that they use to transport people out to the oil rig Hibernia) -went for a workout with Chris -had dinner -had a great conversation with Kelly and Chris -went to floor/bed.

Highlight of the day: Oh, man the helicopter ride was all time! Insane. What a way to finish the tour. We wrapped around Signal Hill at mach 10, the helicopter was on its side. It felt like we were in a movie. We swept along the ocean following the cliffs up the coast. All the boys together, having a unique adventure, on the other side the country. By the time we landed we were all cheering.

Most inspiring moment: Just helpin'.

Shout outs: Kelly. Thanks for coming out with us. All the crew from Gander. Your energy is fantastic. Cougar Air for getting us up in the air. Andrew for getting us hooked up, dude, you rule.

Classic quote: "That is one of the most exciting things I have ever done." -Kelly upon exiting the helicopter.

My crux: Time limitations. I want to do so much in St. John's but I am seriously lacking in time and energy.

Physically speaking: Oh, man that workout felt great! Again thanks Andrew.

Mental stimulation: I have been doing a lot of self-exploration, you know, exploring my own brain. You'd be surprised if you knew what I found.

Big laughs: Up in the air.
