Erik's Journal

Date: Thursday, October 31st 2002. (Boo!)

Geography: Halloween in Montreal.

Point form day: Up at 6:45 -quick breakfast -traveled over the St. Laurence en route to speak to a school - delivered candy with the English students to the French school -had a ridiculously fun assembly -went downtown and handed out pumpkins, candy and t-shirts with SAS employees -went to a The Peel Pub for some food -returned to the hotel and got ready for Halloween night in Montreal (we all dressed in red Kindness Crew shirts, painted our bodies red and silver then stuck horns to our heads) -the five of us, (Chris, Brad, Val, Dave and myself), headed for a bar on St. Laurent called Lucifer -by chance we met up with some of the girls from the McGill swim team, (dressed as 6 police women), who got us in past a huge lineup and gave us free tickets -had an outstanding night and got to bed at 4:30am.

Highlight of the day: Running down the streets with my 4 best friends, dressed as devils, on Halloween in Montreal. CARPE DIEM! We painted the town and ourselves red. We ran from the hotel down St Laurent and to a club called Lucifer (how appropriate). At the door we were greeted with a long line up and an unfriendly bouncer. We decided to regroup and as we stood out in the cold a couple of girls spotted us from inside the club. They turned out to be some of the girls from McGill. They got us free tickets and past the line. Once we were in it was nothing but great times. We danced and laughed until 3:00 and then went out for food. By the time we went to bed it was 4:30.

Most inspiring moment: Heading from the English speaking school with a bunch of hyped up kids to the French school to distribute candy to all the students. These kids had so much energy and were really into our vibe. It made things especially funny because all the kids were dressed up in amazing Halloween costumes.

Shout outs: All the Police Squad. Thanks for showing us a great night. That was too much fun. Thanks to everyone from SAS we had a sweet time.

Classic quote: "This is our best stop yet!"- The words we speak at almost every stop. This tour just keeps getting better.

My crux: My heart.

Physically speaking: Great. I have had some fantastic runs.

Mental stimulation: I've been meditating on my future a lot.

Big laughs: Trying to hand out free stuff without speaking French. The looks you get are priceless.

When I finished writing this I was: AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHH!
