Erik's Journal

Date: Oct 5th 2002.

Geography: Thunder Bay, Ont.

Point form day: Up at 9:00 -went to the Terry Fox memorial -toured town saw the local sights -volunteered at a local shelter cooking tuna noodle casserole from scratch -sold Chuck a Pucks for Lakehead University at the Hockey game to raise money for the hockey team -ate dinner at a local sports bar -went to Armani's, a really fantastic nightclub in TB -Hit the sac at 3:00.

Highlight of the day: Being in a real kitchen with Chris, Brad and Val. When we cooked the meal at Shelter House they had a really nice kitchen and a lot of great food. We laughed and cooked and created the best tuna noodle casserole /lasagna I have ever made. If we opened a restaurant together we would have a killer time.

Most inspiring moment: Seeing the Terry Fox memorial. That guy epitomizes the spirit of youth and inspiration and drive. I was moved. I think because he sacrificed to put something pure into the world consciousness. It has echoes of our journey. He was the true manifestation of old skool. He had drive, strength, and a pure style that he didn't even have to work for. Terry was just a young guy with a dream and some drive and that guy, manalive, he changed the world. It is a great statue it reminded me how great the potential of a person is. He inspires me.

Shout outs: Terry Fox. Thank you for inspiring me. Again Mike you hooked us up in town thank you.

Classic Quote: Nobody spoke this entire day.

My Crux: Group cleanliness and focus.

Physically Speaking: My neck and back are sore. I feel the need for yoga and a day to myself.

Mental Stimulation: I feel good. There is ideas sprouting in my head, time to nurture. I feel the need to start writing.

Big Laughs: I tried to sell Chuck-a-Pucks to the opposing team's captain (a crazy bald headed guy) while he was in the penalty box. The captain gave me an icy stare and threatened to beat the living crap out of me. Later that night we discovered that the team was partying at Armani's and so went looking for the captain. I ended up meeting him outside the club at the end of the night. Uh oh... Actually, the guy was one of the nicest, most level headed, crazy bald guys I have ever met. (No wonder he's captain) We both apologized and had some great laughs. The whole team was stoked on our tour and we ended up hooking them up with Colombia shirts.

When I finished writing this I was: Lovin' life.
