Extreme Kindness

Erik's Journal - September 27, 2002

Geography: Regina, Sask.

Point form day: -Slept in until 9:00 –had breakfast alone –had wrap up with kindness team –drove to White City –ate a famous White City Iceberg Burger –played a soccer match against all the school kids -spoke in front of the entire school at an assembly held just for us –attended several classes including: a drama class, a socials class and a grade 1 class. –drove to one of the friendliest streets in White City and had a hot tub and snacks and great conversation –swam in a 56 degree pool –headed to the golf club for dinner and more conversation and laughs –traveled back to the hotel and cleaned the RV –went for a walk to check out the local art and architecture. Hit the sack at 1:30.

Highlight of the day: The assembly at White City school. We were a little nervous about addressing a span of kids from kindergarten to grade nine, but we were received with smiles and laughs. This is truly one of the healthiest, kindest, most brilliant towns I have ever been in.

That and being surrounded by 50 laughing screaming kids.

Most inspiring moment: I don’t think there was one specific moment, but generally this day was inspiring. The town of White City has a brilliant future ahead, and that gets me stoked.

My Crux: I’m pretty tired.
Physically Speaking: Generally good except for one wicked bruise on my leg.

Big Laughs: Val getting pinned in the head with a ball during ball tag.
