Extreme Kindness

Erik's Journal - September 20, 2002

Geography: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. (We ended up driving all the way to Saskatoon last night. We toured the local night scene at 1:30am looking to see if anyone would invite us into their home for the night but to no avail. We ended up sleeping in the parking lot in front of the Radisson.)

Point form day: Up early and checked into the hotel, general sorting and meeting and eating and exploring, had one of the best staff rallies to date, (we were playing drama games and had people reenacting some very bizarre RAK’s, went to the gym, did some yoga and went for a waterslide. Bed.

Highlight of the day: The staff rally was sweet. We had people dancing, acting and laughing, it was seriously sweet. These people have great energy.

Most inspiring moment: To realize how easily the group is overcoming problems that we encounter.

Shout outs: Brennan Sinclair, thanks for sending me an email that made me smile and made my day. You are wonderful.

Classic Quote: “Who wants to take this……? Does anyone want to take this…..? Hey can someone else take this?” -Val in a near frog voice, standing up in the RV at 7:00am or so croaking to the rest of the sleeping masses to take a phone interview. He ended up singing and doing voice warm-ups for 10min or so before he ended up taking it.

My Crux: Feeling a little homesick and a bit disorganized.

Physically Speaking: Generally good although I am concerned about group health. Kelly is sick as a dog, (no offense, Treehorn)

Mental Stimulation: Still reading.
Big Laughs: Two staff of the Radisson act out lending toilet paper to the person in the next imaginary stall was very funny. Staff rallies rule!

When I finished writing this I was: Feeling anxious. I need to get outside.
