Extreme Kindness

Erik's Journal - October 2, 2002

Geography: Earth, a small colony near Winnipeg called Lorette.

Point form day: Awoke at 9:00am after 12 hours of sleep –had a quick breakfast –zipped off to speak at a local school –had a fantastic presentation to grades 3,4 and 5, lots of laughs –had a quick lunch –left for the small town of Lorrete – used our roofing skills to put shingles on Henry's roof (Henry was one of the people that called into the radio interview yesterday. He said he needed help with his roof, so we went.)– had a wonderful perogie dinner with the family –returned to the hotel to work.

Highlight of the day:
Most inspiring moment: Talking with Willie (one of will up on the roof. His laugh was contagious and his ideas about society were inspiring. It gets me stoked to see people with a positive outlook.
Shout outs: Henry for accepting the kindness of strangers.

Classic Quote: “I'm very nervous right now,” – a 1st grader whispering to me after he had been called up in front of the whole gymnasium.

My Crux: Resolving problems with Chris. It can be difficult because we are both people with a lot of passion. We have been working on for a long time and can resolve disputes a lot easier than before but we still have our trying moments.

Physically Speaking: Hammer + Thumb = purple nail.

Mental Stimulation: It is nice to revisit some of my old construction skills.

Big Laughs: Just talking and laughing on the roof with a bunch of other guys. Working together with a bunch of good people can be a lot of laughs.

When I finished writing this I was: Listening to Mason Jennings (the self titled album, it's great.)
