Extreme Kindness

Date: Monday, November 11th 2002.

Geography: En route to Charlottetown in insanely warm temperatures. In four days the temperature went from -12c to 17c. I was on the beach in shorts and no t-shirt today.

Point form day: Woke up in the parking lot of a radio station Fredericton -had a sweet radio interview -met Roy a local who runs a center for "recycling lives" and had a tour of the facilities. Roy helps out thousands of people worldwide with the clothing, training, jobs and support that they need to live successful lives -went for breakfast at a French Canadian breakfast place and had an interview with the University newspaper -hustled out to the coast -went swimming at Parlee beach and had my first dip in the Atlantic Ocean -crossed the Confederation bridge to PEI -arrived at the Best Western in Charlottetown -had a staff rally -hit the sack early.

Highlight of the day: Submerging myself into the Atlantic ocean. We hit the beach running. Through the sand and into the water in less than 2 minutes. My moment of sheer bliss came when I burst out of the cold water and stood, feet buried in the sand, water up to my waist with a warm offshore wind blowing on my back. Success.

Most inspiring moment: Meeting Roy. Dude, is a man with a plan. Not only does he align himself with a cause that he believes in, but he makes it happen on a consistant basis.
