Extreme Kindness

Erik's Journal

Date: Monday, November 14th 2002.

Geography: Charlottetown, PEI.

Point form day: Up early to speak to a local grade 3 class -had lunch -headed to Green Gables -traveled to the North Shore in the pouring rain -skipped rocks and hiked on the beach -ate dinner -helped out at a junior hockey and a ringette practice.

Highlight of the day: Playing ringette with a bunch of 12 and 13 year old girls. I am a terrible skater and have never played ringette before but all the girls were really supportive and we had a lot of fun.

Another highlight was being on a beach on the North Shore watching the waves, in the rain, thinking about surfing.

Most inspiring moment: Just hanging out with some of the wonderful people of Charlottetown.

Shout outs: Kevin and France. Thank you for sharing your family with us.

Classic quote: "I LOVE YOU LIKE RASINS!" -What 6-year-old Justin (the GM's son) was yelling to passersby out the window of the RV.

My crux: Planning.

Physically speaking: Good but stiff. I need yoga.

Mental stimulation: Learning to play ringette.

Big laughs: Packing everyone and all the hockey gear into the RV and heading from the rink to the hotel. All the kids were yelling, "I love you, I love you, like crazy!" out the window as we honked the horn at passersby.

When I finished writing this I was: Listening to the Vinal Café. I love CBC.
