Extreme Kindness

Erik's Journal

Date: October 28th 2002.

Geography: Ottawa, Toronto.

Point form day: Up early -breakfast - press conference -served lunched at a local mission with the CHIP staff- handed out chocolate kisses and teddy bears on the streets -returned for lunch -headed out to carve and distribute mini pumpkins on the streets of Ottawa with SAS employees - returned to the Crowne Plaza for a workout and dinner -worked on the computer and bedded early after a great debate with John.

Highlight of the day: Carving the cutest little pumpkin and giving it to the perfect person walking past. He was stoked.

Most inspiring moment: Seeing how well the mission was set up to accommodate the homeless. This facility even had a hospice for homeless people with terminal illness. The staff that work there have great energy.

Shout outs: The staff at the Crowne Plaza. You all have fantastic energy. Laura from Victoria. Thanks for having an adventure with us. Richard, dude you have great energy.

Classic quote: "John you don't want to watch Undercover Brother (the movie) because you're Chris' undercover brother."

My crux: Energy, I'm running low.

Physically speaking: Great, had a fantastic run around the city. I got to see things that nobody else sees and loved every minute of it. I ran, I climbed, I jumped and I explored for about an hour or so and then came back for a workout. Physically I feel wonderful.

Mental stimulation: John and I had a great debate about purity.

Big laughs: "He He! Ya got a light!" -business man walking from the water up the stairs towards Parliament.
"No but I've got a fire under my but"-me running up the stairs as fast as possible
"Ha, ya sure do!" -business man laughing.

When I finished writing this I was: Just about to crack the new issue of Utne reader and hit the sack.
